Inspire was commissioned to provide external refurbishment works to Prendergast School in Catford in August 2015. The project involved the complete refurbishment of the external facade of the main classroom block.
The existing block facade was in need of work as it was suffering from a deteriorated paint system. The current paint had not been replaced for a number of years and had substantial weathering due to age. Working from a mobile access platform, existing surfaces were prepared and primed ready for the new paint.
As the block was vulnerable to weathering, we recommended the Dulux Weathershield Paint System. This product is a three-part, weather-resistant and flexible paint system from Dulux Trade which is specifically developed to give longer lasting protection for exterior surfaces.
The project was undertaken during the school’s summer holidays and as such, had an incredibly tight turnaround time. The Inspire team had to complete all works and hand back over to the client within two weeks before the staff and students returned to the school in September.
We managed to complete all the external refurbishment works required and hand the building back over to the client within the two-week timescale. We also ensured maximum use of budget, using quality paint products to provide a highly durable and future-proofed solution for Prendergast School.
