Inspire was chosen to provide roofing refurbishment works to Windlesham Gardens accommodation in Brighton via our client APC Building Services. Windlesham Gardens was under the care of Southern Housing Group and they required expert roofing services to improve waterproofing.
The existing Asphalt roof over the living accommodation had been suffering from water ingress as a result of degradation due to age and weathering. We worked with the client to undertake an assessment of the existing roof and found that although the roof was in a poor condition, an overlay of the existing rood was still an option.
This would provide a more cost-efficient option for the council, whilst still delivering an effective waterproofing solution. We specified the two-layer felt overlay from Proteus Waterproofing for the project. Pro-Felt is a high performance bituminous felt, with an exceptionally high SBS content making it highly flexible and durable. The existing roof was prepared and primed in readiness for an overlay. The Proteus two-layer system was then applied via torch-on application along with installation of new flashings and GRP edge trim.
Despite tight timescales of only one week, and a stringent budget, we successfully delivered a waterproofing solution to Windlesham Gardens that has extended the lifespan of the existing roof and provided weather protection to the property.
